COVID-19 Financial Wellness

Baptist Health South Florida is offering the following options if you are impacted by pandemic-related financial hardship. 

Pandemic Relief Loan 

  • A loan created to assist those negatively impacted financially by the COVID-19 crisis.
  • A 12-month loan at 9.00% APR1 with no interest or payments due for 60 days.
  • Loan amounts from $1,000 to $2,000.

Loan Payment Extension 

If you have experienced a reduction in your income or incurred unplanned expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic you can request a 60-day loan payment extension2. To submit a request online click here.

Free Financial Counseling 

In partnership with KOFE (Knowledge of Financial Education) the Credit Union offers you the opportunity to work with a Financial Coach to review and analyze your budget and spending, determine goals and create an action plan. Coaches provide advice on: 


  • Personal counseling by phone
  • Budgeting tactics / Saving strategies
  • Reading & understanding credit reports
  • Debt management / Debt resolution options

Fees Being Waived

In addition, Baptist Health South Florida FCU is temporary waiving the following fees for all members: 


  • NCCL application fee (normally $20)
  • Money Order Fee (normally $2 each)
  • Official Checks (normally $10 each)
  • Foreign ATM Withdrawal, Balance Inquiry, and Transfer Fee
  • Shared Branching Withdrawal and Transfer Fee
  • Share Excessive Withdrawal Fee
  • Money Market Excessive Withdrawal Fee

Hours of Operation

In order to better protect our employees and members, starting Monday, March 30th, all branches will follow the schedule below until further notice. The Homestead Branch will continue closing for lunch from 12:00pm - 1:00pm.

While this pandemic has forced us to reduce our branch hours, we are extending our Contact Center hours of operation. The Contact Center is now available to assist you Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 6:00pm by dialing 786-257-2300.


You can also access your accounts via Online Banking and our Mobile App 24/7/365. If you need to access your funds, we have 14 free ATMs conveniently located throughout BHSF properties. You also have access to over 1,000 Publix Presto ATMs. If you haven’t used your ATM or Debit card in some time, we recommend that you confirm that you still have it in your possession and that you know your PIN number.

Beware of Coronavirus Scams 

Fraudsters have taken advantage of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to exploit the global thirst for knowledge on the virus. Malicious actors have launched Coronavirus-themed phishing attacks to spread malware, typically looking to steal banking credentials. Fraudsters have also created fake websites to deliver misinformation.


Some of these attacks are in the form of emails, which contain infected attachments or links to malicious websites. The emails are made to appear like they come from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) or the World Health Organization (WHO). The WHO posted an article on its website warming users of this scam.


There are also several fake Coronavirus interactive maps that infect user devices with credential-stealing malware. Fraudsters are circulating links to these malicious websites containing Coronavirus maps through social media and phishing emails.


Please be very cautious. Think twice before opening an attachment or clicking on a link that you do not recognize. Be extra mindful when providing personal information, always consider why someone would want or need your information and if it is appropriate to give it out.

2Finance charges will continue to accrue at the rate disclosed in your original loan agreement. Deferring a payment will result in higher total FINANCE CHARGES than if payments are made as originally scheduled, and will extend the term of your loan resulting in extra payments after your loan would otherwise be paid off. If you previously elected credit life and/or disability insurance, premiums will continue during the extended term months. If you have GAP insurance, the coverage will not extend beyond the original maturity date of the loans as disclosed in the Installment Sales Contract/Loan GAP Waiver Addendum Election Form. Requests for extensions beyond 60-day will require additional review and documentation. All requests are subject to approval. Certain restrictions may apply. The COVID-19 Member Hardship Relief and Assistance may be cancelled at any time.
