Q. What is a Credit Union?

A credit union is a not-for-profit, cooperative financial institution owned and controlled by its members

Q. What is the difference between a Credit Union and a Bank?
A.
A Credit Union is a not-for-profit cooperative owned by its members, run by volunteer board of directors where YOU have a vote - your opinion matters. A bank is a for profit financial institution owned by its stock holders, run by paid board of directors and you have NO vote .

Q. Who can join the Credit Union?
A.
Membership is limited to those in our field of membership.

Q. How do I join the Credit Union?
A.
Come into one of our offices, make sure to bring your Drivers' License, Social Security Card, and proof of eligibility with you. Or, you can complete our membership inquiry to receive more information on our products and services and the necessary paperwork to get started.

Q. Are there any fees to join the Credit Union?
A.
A $5.00 one-time membership fee due at the time you open your share/savings account.

Q. Is there a minimum balance requirement?
A.
A $5.00 minimum balance is required to maintain membership in the Credit Union.

Q. Can family members join the Credit Union?
A.
Yes! Anyone related by blood, marriage or adoption is an eligible family member.

Q. How do I initiate a wire transfer FROM my Credit Union account?
A.
You need to obtain the ABA/Routing and Transit number, account number, exact name and address on the account, and the name and address of the institution where you would like to wire the money. You may then visit one of our locations to sign the wire transfer request form with a Member Relations Representative. Note: There is a fee for outgoing wire transfers.

Q. How can I check on my Credit Union account after hours?
A.
You can access your account several ways. By using our Home Banking. From your home or office, on vacation, or at the pool, you are be able to manage your accounts anytime you want - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By using the Credit Union's Telephone Inquiry System. The service is FREE and allows you access to your account 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call (305) 669-3296. More information and complete usage instructions are available online. By using one of our ATM's, conveniently located near our branches.
